A unique handmade picture made with Vietnamese rice titled ‘Vu Khuc Nam Chau’ ( Ballet of Five Continents) will travel to Las Vegas with Luu Thi Diem Huong, Miss Vietnam 2010, the country’s representative at this year’s Miss Universe contest.

Rice-eating Vietnamese people use rice for many purposes and their deep rooted agricultural way of life has had a strong influence on the social, economic, political and ideological development of the people and their culture.
With a desire to honor the quintessential grain of rice, artisans of the Quynh Vy Company--a company that makes pictures with rice grains -- meticulously produced a special 60cmx80cm picture with 24,000 grains of rice depicting five girls in different costumes symbolizing friendship and solidarity across five continents despite skin color or races.
Quynh Vy Company said it hopes to introduce an important aspect of Vietnamese culture to beauty contestants and friends around the world.
The art of making pictures with rice grains is well-known across the globe. Many foreign tourists visit the company to buy a picture made of rice grains as a novelty gift.
