The “Lang Co-World’s Most Beautiful Bay” festival kicked off in Phu Loc District of Thua Thien-Hue Province on July 9, honouring the rich cultural values and exotic landscapes of Lang Co.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ho Trong Cau, deputy chairman of Phu Loc District People’s Committee said the festival is one of the most important activities in Phu Loc District and Thua Thien-Hue Province affirming that the Lang Co area is an important prospective tourist destination both domestically and internationally. Lang Co is poised to be a socio–eco hub in Phu Loc District in the future.
During the two-day festival, Vietnamese and international visitors will have an opportunity to take part in various activities, such as a cuisine fair, traditional boat racing, football and volleyball games and fishermen’s festival for seafarers.
Through the festival the organizers aim to promote the vast tourism potential of Thua Thien-Hue Province and the Bay in particular, to lure more Vietnamese and international investors.
Located 70 km south of Hue City and 20 km north of Da Nang City, Lang Co was named as one of the world’s most beautiful bays on May 16th, 2009 by the World Bay Club.
The festival ends on July 10.
