Toyota Concert Tour 2013 will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on July 30, according to the co-organizers Toyota Vietnam Foundation and Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

The concert will present to music lovers various delicate melodies of Japan, Vietnam and the world including two works of Russian romanticism composer Tchaikovsky, the joyful ‘Music for Symphony Orchestra’ of Japanese conductor-composer Yasushi Akutagawa, and ‘Xe chi luon ki’ (a duet love folk song of the northern province of Bac Ninh) by composer Tran Manh Hung.

The classic music works will be performed by VNSO, under the baton of Japanese maestro Honna Tetsuji.

In addition, young talented violinist Do Phuong Nhi, 15, will be Guest of Honor at the concert.

Nhi was born in a family with musical traditions. Her parents are violinists and her uncle is famous songwriter Le Minh Son. She will perform the ‘Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op.28’ of composer Camille Saint-Saens.

The music show aims to celebrate Japan-Vietnam Friendship Year and 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

On this occasion, Toyota also supports VNSO in organizing ‘VNSO Japan Concert Tour 2013’ in seven big cities of Japan from September 21 to October 1 with participation of People’s artist Le Khanh and pianist Kodama Momo, imposing a cultural exchange between the two nations, especially in the field of classical music.

The event will be held in Hanoi Opera House on August 2-3. All proceeds will go to the ‘Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese young music talents’.
