Third Ao dai festival officially opens in HCMC

The third Ao dai festival under theme of “Ho Chi Minh City- Ao dai city” was officially opened at Youth Culture House in the city on March 8.

Attending in the festival were deputy chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu, leaders of departments and agencies, crowded young people and residents.

Thousands of attendees wore Ao dai, Vietnamese traditional long dress, to the event making colorful impressive painting.

During the festival, many attractive activities will take place such as talks and seminars of Ao dai, researchers introduce about establishment history and exchange of Vietnam traditional long dress, “Ao dai over the periods” photography exhibition at Ao dai Museum, War Remnants Museum, Chi Lang Park in Dong Khoi route on March 5- 31, and Ao dai fair, related accessories store at Youth Culture House on March 18- 20, ‘Ao dai' designing contest and painting contest and Vietnam traditional long dress performance designed by 40 Vietnamese and international designers on March 19- 20 and others.

On the same day, a special art performance themed “Ao dai- Unending beauty” also was organized at Youth Culture House with the participation of thousands of local residents.

The Ao dai festival was organized by the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City.
