In the afternoon, temperatures rose by 27-30 degree Celsius. However, it fell in nights and early morning. For instance, the southern province of Tay Ninh had temperature of 16.8 degree Celsius on December 28 meanwhile the Mekong delta provinces of Long An and Tien Giang ranged from 18.2 to 19.3 degree Celsius.
Ho Chi Minh City's temperature dropped to 19 degree Celsius. This is the lowest temperature in the last ten years.
According to weather forecasters, it will be warmer in New Year holidays but it will be cold on January 6 again as a new cold wind hits the city.
The Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center in the South warned that the central coastal province of Binh Dinh to the Mekong delta province of Ca Mau and the East Sea will experience rough seas with north-easterly winds gusting to category 6-7 levels due to the influence of the cold air stream.
