As part of the ongoing green summer campaign 2011, about 400 student volunteers from universities and colleges celebrated ‘children’s day’ yesterday in Binh Thanh District of Ho Chi Minh City.

Volunteers gave away gifts to 70 disadvantaged children, mobilized blood donation camps for cancer patients and visited child patients at the Oncology Hospital.
They also organized a forum entitled “Listen to children,” helped sanitize and clean up 20 schools in the district to fight against hand-foot-mouth disease and held fun game activities for children.
The green summer volunteers also distributed notebooks, textbooks, school stationery, bags and uniforms to poor students in the border and remote island areas.
