The new edition, at www.sggp.org.vn, has a modern, lively, and attractive interface, new columns targeted at various groups of readers, especially youth, and multimedia.

SGGP in 2000 became the first newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City to launch an online edition and was licensed to upgrade it to an electronic newspaper late last year.

At the launch ceremony, SGGP editor-in-chief Tran The Tuyen said the electronic edition is appropriate for an information society and would make an important contribution to the publishing group’s long-term development, implementing its political obligations, and meeting local and foreign readers’ information needs.

Mr. Tuyen hailed the efforts of SGGP staff and their achievements in introducing and establishing new editions in the last 35 years.

Nguyen Van Dua, deputy secretary of the city Party Committee, hailed SGGP for establishing, operating, and upgrading its online edition.
