SGGP Newspaper gives scholarships to poor pupils

Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) coordinated with the Navy High Command of Zone 5 gave 30 scholarships to excellent pupils in Phu Quoc Island on January 10.

Each scholarship is worth VND1 million, contributed by pupils in Ho Chi Minh City under the program “Join hands for island pupils” launched by SGGP Newspaper and the Navy High Command of Zone 5.

Colonel Doan Van Thieu, deputy political commissar of the Zone 5’s Navy High Command, sincerely thanked SGGP Newspaper and the program for supporting pupils in the Phu Quoc Island for better studying conditions. "These pupils are chidlren of our staff members working at units of the Navy Zone 5", he said.

On the same day, representative of the SGGP Newspaper also gave Tet gifts to the Zone 5’s Navy High Command and some units which garrison in the Phu Quoc Island District on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year.
