Staff of SGGP Newspaper visited soldiers at the 125th Brigade of the Naval High Command on November 30 and awarded 26 scholarships to poor students who have made good achievements in learning.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Ly Viet Trung stressed that this is a very meaningful gesture which is aimed to support poor children overcome difficulties in their life. Besides that, the activity also creates advantageous conditions for city children to express their love for the Islands.
The scholarships were donated by students from elementary schools, secondary schools and high schools in Binh Thanh District. Earlier, SGGP Newspaper had awarded 12 scholarships to children of soldiers in Naval Zone 2.
Reportedly, the 125th Brigade currently has 500 soldiers. Of these 75 percent have a stable life but the rest are facing difficult problems in their life such as lack of accommodation, unemployment, as well as poor studying conditions for their children.
