Sea Festival 2011 will take place in Nha Trang City in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa from June 11-15 with more than 60 interesting cultural activities.
The Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee announced this at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on May 16.
Le Xuan Than, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Chief of the management board of the festival said this year’s festival will include more than 60 activities in various fields of culture, arts, sports and tourism. Amongst these will be the Cau Ngu (fish worshipping) ceremony, art performances, a fireworks display, a wine festival, a chess competition, a kite festival and a lantern festival.
There will also be workshops on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, a Spratly Island photo exhibition, a Spratly Island film show and an exhibition of Spratly Island maps made from coffee beans.
The annual event has been held since 2003 by Khanh Hoa Province.
