Saigontourist honored at Vietnam Tourism Awards

The enterprise was honored with titles of ‘Vietnam’s leading international tourist company’, ‘Vietnam’s leading domestic tour operator’ and ‘Vietnam’s leading outbound tourist operator’.

Saigontourist received more than 480,000 visitors, including 170,000 passengers and crew of cruise ships in 2013. The company achieved a total turnover of more than VND2,550 billion, presenting a year-on-year increase of 25 percent, recovering interest rate exceeding the capital amount by 120 percent.

The country’s biggest travel business has a network of more than 400 partners worldwide to promote tourism in Vietnam.

Vietnam Tourism Awards was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Vietnam Tourism Association.

The awards aim to honor outstanding travel agencies, hotels and hospitality service providers and carriers in the country.

In related news, Saigontourist welcomed the cruise ship Azamara carrying 750 passengers and crew in Ho Chi Minh City on December 2. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the destinations of the six day trans-Viet tour covering HCMC-Da Nang-Ha Long Bay.

The cruise ship is expected to return to Vietnam on December 11 to cover the Ha Long-Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City route.

Saigontourist has cooperated with Malaysia’s Star Cruises to welcome more than 70,000 passengers and crew on cruise ship SuperStar Gemini from October 2013 to March 2014, with 58 voyages of 1,200 visitors each.
