A low-range firework display will take place on the opening ceremony of the cave festival in the central province of Quang Binh on August 14, the provincial authorities announced.
The 15-minute firework display will be set up at Nhat Le Bridge at 9 p.m.
The week-long cultural and tourism event aiming to honor grandiose and mysterious caves of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park will run until August 20.
Many interesting activities will be held during the event, such as the launch of a new tour of the 300-square-metre Xuyen Son Ho (Trans-Mountain Lakes), conquering Hang Toi (Dark Cave), climbing, racing, and other outdoor adventure activities.
There will be a food fair featuring special dishes and products of traditional handicraft villages in Quang Binh.
One of the highlights is a ceremony to receive the UNESCO recognition recognizing the central Viet Nam's Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park as the world heritage site for the second time.
The national park was recognized as a World Heritage site for the second time for its ecological system and biodiversity at the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee in Bonn, Germany.
The first time was in 2003 for its geological and geomorphologic values.
