Vietnam Gas Association has announced a decrease in price of domestic cooking gas cylinders by VND46,000 on a 12 kilogram cylinder from April 1.

Accordingly, gas companies will sell a 12 kilogram cooking gas cylinder for VND405,000 to VND410,000.
At present global cooking gas prices have decreased US$160 per tonne compared to the beginning of March, as gas demand in many countries has decreased, said a representative of Vietnam Gas Association.
Nguyen Sy Thang, chairman of Vietnam Gas Association said that gas companies have to announce their sale price in the beginning of April and ensure that prices do not change until the end of the month.
At a time when cooking gas prices are skyrocketing, the tax cut can partially cool down the market, as well as assist both suppliers and consumers. The association will call on its members to apply the reduced retail price.
Besides the tax cut, the Price Management Agency under the Ministry of Finance also released a directive asking cooking gas suppliers to cut prices and order their dealers and retailers to adjust prices accordingly.
