So far, local authorities have contacted 104 out of 124 households farming in the vegetable garden. Of these, 90 have agreed with moving and receiving financial assistance and 14 have not accepted yet. 74 out of the 90 have completed enumeration procedures and 25 have received assistance funds nearing VND26.2 billion.
Aside from the financial aid, the ward People’s Committee has given a VND5 million bonus and a VND1 million gift to every family among these 25 households.
Mr. Hua Quoc Hung, deputy chairman of Tan Binh People’s Committee, said that the district has paid financial assistance basing on data enumerated by residents and management profile.
In order to ensure residents’ benefit, the district has been restoring the land status in the area, planted boundary markers of land parcels to determine the area of each parcel where residents have cultivated vegetable. Afterwards the district will determine each household in each specific parcel, compare information previously enumerated in 1991, 1995 and 2005 with newly enumerated information and approve the official assistance measure for residents, he said.
Of the 124 households in the vegetable garden, 20 households have not accepted to move for building the school complex. So the ward will continue contacting and convince them to support the project. In addition, it will review and attest legal documents of 45 out of 75 households who have enumerated information about their land use and residence in the area to continue support them before Tet Holiday.
