Nearly 100,000 foreigners enjoy lunar new year in HCMC
The Department of Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday announced that the city welcomed nearly 100,000 international travellers out of 221,000 visitors arriving in the city in Tet holiday (the Lunar New Year), a year-on-year increase of 15 percent.
Visitors were from European countries, China, Japan and South Korea. Tourists took part in tour “Tay an tet ta” ( Foreigners enjoy lunar new year in Vietnam) as well as flower festival in Tao Dan Park, visited Cho Lon where a large community of Chinese-Vietnamese people are living.
Moreover, they had a chance to understand more about Vietnamese traditional Tet holiday.
A large number of foreign travelers visited Mekong delta provinces to find out locals’ tradition and customs as well as participate in folk cultural activities.
