Musician Phan Nhan, the author of the famous song Ha Noi Niem Tin Va Hy Vong (Hanoi- Confidence and Hope) died at the age of 85 at his home in Ho Chi Minh City on June 29.
The musician was born in 1930 in Long Xuyen City in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.
He composed hundreds of songs depicting his love of life and the country, such as Ha Noi Niem Tin Va Hy Vong (Hanoi- Confidence and Hope), Thanh pho cua toi (My city), Tinh ban gia (Old friendship). He also wrote many favorite children’s songs.
Musician Phan Nhan was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts, First- Class Resistance Medal, Third Class Victory Medal, the Fatherland’s Iron Bulwark Order- first class and national titles for his great contributions to the country’s music industry.
The musician’s coffin is being placed at Ho Chi Minh City Funeral House on Le Quy Don Street in District 3 from June 30 to July 2.
