Movie “Father and Son” honored at int’l film festivals

The movie Cha cong con (Father and Son) directed/scripted by Vietnamese director Luong Dinh Dung won the Best Picture Award at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival 2017.

The film has been honored with a number of awards at prestigious international film festivals around the world, including Best Foreign Feature and Special Jury Award for Outstanding Cinematography at the 26th Arizona International Film Festival in Tucson, Arizona; the award for the best storyline at the 15th Boston International Film Festival from April 13 – 17 in Massachusetts; Best Cinematography award at the 17th Milano International Film Festival of Italy.

Father and Son is adapted from a novel of the same name written in 1995 by director Luong Dinh Dung. It tells about a boy named Ca (fish), son of a poor fisherman. They live in a small fishing village. The kid who has always dreamed of touching the clouds falls a severe illness and his father whisks him away to go seeing everything he wishes before his death.
