More than VND223 billion supported the poor, soldiers on island stations

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City on January 7 held a ceremony honoring individuals and organizations who made outstanding contribution in activities in sea and island areas and taking care of the poor.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City To Thi Bich Chau said that individuals, businesses and organizations donated VND30 billion to the "Fund for Beloved Truong Sa islands" and VND193 billion to the “Fund for the poor” in 2017.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City supported soldiers who are working day and night around islands to protect the country's sovereignty, disadvantaged households in the city and poor people nationwide
On the occasion, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City presented certificates of merit to 158 groups and 12 individuals.
