More support for social beneficiaries

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has asked charitable organizations to increase monetary contributions to the beneficiaries of social policies, in view of the present day inflation in costs of most commodities.

Some charitable organizations have already increased the meal allowances for those living in charity nursing homes, since April this year.

Tan Hiep Nursing home in Binh Thanh District has increased meal allowances by more than VND50, 000 for senior citizens, 60 years and above. The nursing homes for mental patients are offering a VND4, 000 increase plus some necessary day to day commodities.

5,754 beneficiaries of social policies living in charity homes and 17, 168 living in their own community homes will receive an additional amount of VND50, 000 each, per month.
