The Ministry of Finance May 9 sent its dispatch to people’s committees in cities and provinces asking to tighten control over commodity prices as prices of certain goods hike in April due to influence of transport fares and diseases.
The Ministry asked governments to oversee supply-and demand condition, market price in and out the country and issue inspection on essential commodities to penalize violations. The governments publicize violators in media.
The Ministry ordered local authorities to closely oversee subsidized commodities and transport fares, dairy products for children under six medicines, cement, iron and steel, animal feed and oil.
