Mekong Delta Week in Ho Chi Minh City kicked off here Thursday at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium.
Chairman and deputy chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Le Hoang Quan and Nguyen Trung Tin, together with leaders and HCMC representatives and those of 13 Mekong Delta provinces, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, attended the event.
As did 150 artists, including famous singers such as Ta Minh Tam, Cam Ly, Dam Vinh Hung, Thanh Thuy, Ho Quynh Huong, Van Khanh and others who performed in a music show, which was divided into two parts: introduction of Mekong Delta provinces and the cooperation between HCMC and Mekong Delta region.
The event is a chance to promote the vast potential of delta land and present its products and beauty to local and foreign people in the city.
Mekong Delta Week in HCMC will run until June 14.
