Low pressure zone badly affects southern waters

A low pressure zone has taken shape in the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands’ area and badly affected the waters off the southern region of Vietnam.

According to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center, the zone was located in the islands’ area yesterday and little moved. It is forecast to develop into a tropical depression.
Under the zone’s influence, the southern waters has been choppy with waves of 1.5-2.5 meters.
In the meantime, a cold front slammed into the northern region this early morning. Northern provinces will be cold tonight, mountainous areas will see the mercury fall below 10 degree Celsius.
The cold front is dry so it will be clear and sunny over wide area. The highest temperatures will be 24-27 degree Celsius.
