Laos Cultural Week in Vietnam opened at Ben Thanh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 on December 2.
More than 30 Laotian artists sang songs honoring the late President Ho Chi Minh and the special ties between the two countries in Laos and Vietnamese languages. The event is also a chance to introduce Laotian people and culture to Vietnamese people.
The biennial event aims at marking the 39 th anniversary of Laos’ Liberation Day (December 2, 1975-2014). It is co-organized by the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Culture, Information and Tourism.
Laos Cultural Week in Vietnam will run until December 7, later it will aslo be held in the southern provinces of Hau Giang and Vinh Long.
Vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Tat Thanh Cang received a delegation of officials from the Lao Ministri\y of Culture, Information and Tourism led by Deputy Minister Bou Ngeun Xaphouvong on December 3.
