In Tet holidays, temperatures in HCMC at 17-20 degrees Celsius.

 

According to the central Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center , yesterday early morning ( Jan 20) the cold front is advancing and affecting the northeastern region, central northern region and the northwestern area. Sporadic rains is anticipated also to occur.

 

As the cold is forecast to continue for the next 4-6 days, it is foretold that in Tet holidays. the weather in Vietnam is very cold in the north while the south is sunny.

 

The Gulf of Tonkin and the East Sea (including area surrounding the Hoang Sa – Paracel – islands) are undergoing northeastern winds blowing at force 7 with strong seas.

 

The northwestern region is forecast to have light rains and winds this afternoon and tonight with temperatures ranging from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius.

 

The northeastern region will also have light rains with temperatures ranging from 4 to 15 degrees Celsius.

 

Hanoi will have light rains with temperatures from 9 to 15 degrees Celsius.

 

In the central region, provinces of Thanh Hoa and Thua Thien Hue will also be cold, with the mercury fluctuating from 12-19 Celsius degrees.

 

Le Thanh Hai, director of the Vietnam’s weather forecasting agency said that affected by cold wind in the North and the Central in the southern region, it is sunny without rains at night. Hochiminh city will be from warm to hot with temperatures at 22-32 degrees Celsius but at nights temperatures at 17-20 degrees Celsius.

 

However, areas from Da Nang to Binh Thuan will be much warmer (temperatures from 18-30 degrees Celsius).

 

Meanwhile, due to an intensifying cold front, from 1-7am Tet morning, temperatures at the Mau Son tourism zone in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son dropped to minus degrees Celsius and there is snow .
