Speaking at the event, Head of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga affirmed that outstanding achievements in the foreign affairs had great contributions of the people who have been working in the city's foreign affairs, especially HUFO.
HUFO and its member organizations have actively carried out many peaceful, solidarity and friendship activities.
Additionally, HUFO has effectively done non-governmental works with an aid value of over USD 40 million a year, contributing practically to the poverty-alleviation movement, solving social problems and improving the capacity of social organization and community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Standing Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem suggested HUFO continued to affirm its role in HCMC's diplomatic activities, especially focusing on effectiveness and flexibility in the Party's diplomatic activities.
