The National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center yesterday said that the ongoing widespread heat wide in the northern and central regions would gradually ease by August 20 when medium to heavy rains began to roll in from a low pressure trough.
Highest temperature soared to 35-37 degrees Celsius yesterday. It will swing 35-38 degrees in the northeastern region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen in the next couple of days.
Southwestern winds will cause thunderstorms in the southern part of the East Sea comprising Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago.
Ho Chi Minh City will be sunny in daytime and showery in late afternoons in the next two days. Temperatures will hover around 24-34 degrees.
