HCMC wins five gold medals at National Shooting Championship 2016

After seven days of competition at the National Shooting Championship 2016, Ho Chi Minh City team took up the third position with achievement of five gold, four silver and three bronze medals.

Five gold medals were contributed by Phan Xuan Chuyen, Phan Cong Minh and Bui Hong Phong at 25 meter standard pistol, 25 meter sport pistol and 25 meter center-fire pistol.
 
In the women’s 10 meter air pistol finals, HCMC’s shooting team was ranked 28th position as athlete Iwaki Ai competed unsuccessfully.
 
In the women’s team shooting competition, HCMC team was ranked the eighth position.
                        
Final result showed the first position went to Army team with 15 gold, 18 silver and 11 bronze medals; the second position belonged to Hanoi team with six gold, seven silver and five bronze medals; and the third position was HCMC team with five gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
 
In this year’s championship, gunner Hoang Xuan Vinh did not compete but he played as the leader of Army shooting team.
 
The National Shooting Championship has taken place on March 21- 27.
