Deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen yesterday afternoon presided over a meeting to discuss the opening of Bui Vien walking street.
At present, the Department of Tourism is working with District 1 to implement the plan. Vehicles will be banned from travelling in the street from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Bui Vien street is home to restaurants, amusement services and tourist products shops for foreign visitors.
Once becoming walking street, it will be decorated more beautifully than now. Many traditional art performances such as Don ca tai tu (southern fork music) and folk songs will be organized to serve visitors.
Nguyen Hue is the first walking street opened in the city's District 1 in 2015.
