
Speaking at the receiving ceremony, Chief of the Office of the HCMC People’s Committee, Dang Quoc Toan expressed his delight to welcome the delegation.
The visit that runs from September 14-17 aims to mark the 30th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties and will contribute to promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries in general and the naval forces of the two sides particularly.
HCMC is the first destination of the delegation in the training course in 2022. The RoK vessels will arrive in 10 ports of nine countries around the world, including Malaysia, India and Australia.
During their stay, 470 crewmembers of the two naval ships are set to visit units of the Vietnam People's Navy, and take part in exchanges on security and defense industrial cooperation, training courses and sport exchanges with officers and soldiers of Vietnamese naval forces.
The helicopter training ship of the Republic of Korea Navy, Hansando has a length of 142 meters and a width of 25 meters. Displacement is about 4,500 tons. It carries a single OTO 76mm, a 40mm gun and MASS decoy launchers.
