They were on behalf of HCMC citizens and authorities to visit soldiers and residents in the islands and DK15 platform, one of Vietnam’s seven logistical and technical services stations in the East Sea.

Music programs were held to serve local soldiers and residents. The presents include equipment for their daily life and work, worth VND11 billion (US$522,317), which was partly donated by organizations and individuals in the city through the movement ‘For the beloved Truong Sa Islands’.

HCMC has sent 14 delegations to the islands since 2004 to share difficulties with those living and working there and DK1 platform.

2014 alone has seen two delegations with nearly 200 officials who visited and gave local people with money and presents valued tens of billions of Vietnamese dong.
