The additions were no easy task, as the Museum's collection of artifacts numbers approximately 22,000 including ancient, near modern and modern exhibits.
Especially amongst them are famous artist Nguyen Gia Tri’s painting “Vuon Xuan Trung Nam Bac” (Spring Garden in Central, South, North Vietnam) recognized as the national jewel by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2013.

Through 30 years, the museum is not only the typical one of the city but also of the South.
There are three themes in the exhibitions on the occasion. The first one is exhibition of paintings of the museum’s formation and development.
The second is exhibits of 35 modern artistic works including oil paintings, lacquer paintings, silk paintings, or paintings with water-colors in the museum’s collections in the period 1987 - 2017.
The third is exhibits of 38 paintings and statues of artists who used to work in the museum and those are working here .
