HCMC classical concert to include Korean duo

Ho Chi Minh City classical music lovers will be treated next Tuesday to timeless works by G. Rossini, M. Bruch and D. Shostakovich, performed by two Koreans and the HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor Lim Jun O and violinist Paik Jae Jin, both from the New Prime Symphony Orchestra, South Korea, will participate in the concert.

 

Opening the show is the Overture to Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini, a libretto based on Pierre Beaumarchais's comedy Le Barbier de Séville premiered in 1775; followed by the Violin Concerto in G minor, op.26 with three movements including Vorspiel: Allegro moderato, Adagio, and Finale: Allegro energico. 

 

Four movements, including Moderatto, Allegretto, Largo and Allergo non troppo, from the Symphony No.5 in D minor, op.47, composed by Russian D. Shostakovich will round off the concert.

 

The show starts at 8pm on March 9 at the HCMC Opera House, District 1. Admission is VND100,000-200,000 (US$6-11)
