The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Associations (HUBA) organized a ceremony Wednesday to pay tribute to 99 entrepreneurs who have made substantial contributions to the southern economic hub’s development this year.
The gala night, also held to mark the country’s Entrepreneurs Day, October 13, took place at the Re-unification Palace and was broadcast live by Ho Chi Minh City Television.

The city administration presented certificates of merits to the 99 business people during the ceremony.
Seven entrepreneurs who have won the title for five consecutive years also received the Prime Minister’s certificates of merits.
At the ceremony, the Entrepreneur Fund for the Community announced a sum of VND200 million (over US$10,000) as emergency relief for flood victims in central Vietnam, who lost their relatives, homes and property during last week’s flash floods caused by continual torrential rains.
As part of activities designed to celebrate the country’s Entrepreneurs Day, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Associations will organize a fair for Vietnamese goods on November 3-7 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Center in the city’s Tan Binh District.
The fair aims to promote Vietnamese high-quality goods and encourage Vietnamese people to use locally-made products in order to further boost the country’s economy.
