Hanoi to launch tours of traditional handicraft villages

The Hanoi Department of Trade and Industry will cooperate with travel companies to offer tours to traditional handicraft villages in June.

The one-day tours are to include Chuon Ngo mother-of-pearl inlaying village - Thang Loi embroidery village - Ha Thai lacquer village; Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan knitting village-Van Phuc silk weaving village and Tay Phuong Pagoda; Van Phuc silk weaving village- Son Dong sculpture village; and Bat Trang - Giang Cao  ceramics village; Kieu Ky garment and gold gilding village.

The new service aims to mark the Grand celebration of 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi; promote handicraft products, tourism potential and historical and cultural value, and refined talent of artisans of traditional handicraft villages in the capital to local and international visitors.

The department has worked together with local authorities to clean the environmental landscape and architecture, and ensure public security in the villages to greet visitors.
