A concert performed by the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the baton of German conductor Christian Schumann will be held at Hanoi Opera House on June 28.

The Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the best orchestras in Vietnam with professors, lecturers and talented students. Many of its musicians have graduated from well-known international music conservatories likely National Conservatory P.I. Tchaikovsky (Russia), National Conservatory N. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg (Russia).

The orchestra has performed several concerts not only in Hanoi, but also in different provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hue and HCMC, with participation of foreign artists and conductors.

Conductor Christian Schumann was introduced to the piano at the age of six. After completing high school, he began his studies in conducting and composition at the Franz Liszt Conservatory and graduated in 2007. At 27 years of age, Christian Schumann is considered one of Germany’s youngest rising stars. He has led internationally renowned orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra in London.  This is the third time that the German conductor performs with the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert will also feature clarinetist Nguyen Quoc Bao who graduated from the Tchaikovsky Music Conservatory in 1994. Bao has performed in many concerts in foreign countries likely Russia, France, USA, Japan and Sweden. He works as a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and plays the First Clarinet in the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.
