Gasoline prices up VND590 dong a liter

The Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) on Sunday (February 21) hiked gasoline prices by VND590 a liter.

A liter of A95 and A92 petrol now costs VND17,490 and VND16,990 respectively.

Some other companies have also increased their petrol prices. The Military Petroleum Company raised its retail petrol prices by VND590 a liter while Saigon Petrol moved them up by VND550 a liter.

Prices of diesel and kerosene have not been changed.

Companies said that they were forced to take this step because world petrol prices have increased over the last 30 days to reach US$83 a barrel.
