The “Teenager & Japanese – Korean – Vietnamese Comics Fans Festival 2010” will be held at the Le Thi Rieng Culture Park in District 10.

Besides the thousands of comics fans, the festival will welcome some VIP guests including officials from the HCMC People’s Committee, representatives from some of the city’s leading publishers like Tre, Kim Dong, Thanh Nien, Fahasa, Phuong Nam, TVM and Dong A, as also officials of the Japanese and Korean consulates.

The festival aims to keep visitors entertained the whole day, with several fun activities and offering huge discounts for most comic books on sale, apart from offering a wide selection of Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese food.

On the opening day, morning highlights include the “Khat vong thoi dai – Con duong dan den thanh cong” (New era’s desire – The road to success) forum led by Viet Idea Co. and the “Hip hop dance” contest. The forum features conversations between young participants and the host who will suggest solutions to problems faced by the youth.

The evening will heat up with performances by nine dance groups that qualify from Hip Hop dance contests held previously.

The second and last day of the competition will begin with games involving life skills hosted by Viet Idea Co. An auction held by Vang Anh, presenting materials seen for the first time in the city is a must-see for all comic fans.

The afternoon will see performances of Japanese tradition dance Yosakoi by Vietnamese students. Later, Furudate Seiki, Head of HCMC-based Japanese Culture Department, for the first time, will perform his hosting skills at an exhibition of Japanese traditional games. He will also repeat his lead role at the forum “Toi & truyen tranh” (Me & Comic Books) believed as a good way for comic fans to take positives from the reading of comic books.

Visitors will not want to miss the eagerly-awaited Cosplay Single and Cosplay Group contests to round off the event.
