The family Concert Richard Strauss “Till Eulenspiegel‘s merry pranks” is expected to charm children at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on May 31, aiming to celebrate the International Children’s Day on June 1.

The focus of attention will be the piece of music by the German composer Richard Strauss. The stories of Till Eulenspiegel will be told by a narrator as well as they will be conveyed through the music itself.

Till Eulenspiegel is famous for never taking neither himself nor his fellows too serious but looking at life from a humoristic point of view. The narrator is sometimes a fool, sometimes a superhero, and of course the children are welcome to participate – even conducting can be tried out! Incidentally, the children and their parents get to know all sorts of interesting facts about the different instruments.

The symphonic poem “Till Eulenspiegel’s merry pranks” was performed for the first time in Vietnamese by the Viet Nam National Symphony and Orchestra (VNSO). Now the work can be experienced by a young audience in a staged version.
