With the salary of US$2,000 per month, Dutch Ron Daniels has worked as coach of the national youth badminton team and taken the duty of training Vu Thi Trang to afford her opportunities for competing in the 2012 London Olympic Games since this month.
Ron Daniels, a Danish badminton expert, officially signed a contract with Vietnam Badminton Federation (VBF) to be the coach of the national youth badminton team.
According to Le Thanh Sang, President of VBF, Ron Daniels’s salary is 2000 USD per month. He is now coaching at the National Sports Training Center in Da Nang. Coach Daniels has been tested in his work since April of this year and the formal contract was offered to him in early May.
One of the most important jobs of Coach Daniels in his coaching position is training Vu Thi Trang, who once won the bronze medal in the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games, to be chosen as a competitor in the 2012 London Olympic Games. In the last week of this month, she is ranked 161st in the world women’s singles category.
If Trang wants to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games, she will need to accumulate more points in the international tournaments and reach the top 100.
“Trang still has many opportunities at hand,” Sang affirmed. Vietnam badminton now unquestionably sees the participation of Tien Minh in the London 2012 Olympic Games because he now ranked 7th in the world men’s singles category.
