UNESCO award winning Vietnamese designer Vo Viet Chung will present his latest collection at the ‘J Autumn Fashion Show’ in London on October 19.
The collection titled “Gift of God” includes 20 designs made of silk, voile, chiffon and lace and inspired by the Hollywood movie “Avatar”. The collection is in colours of brown, yellow, grey and black.
The ‘ J Autumn Fashion Show’ will be held at the iconic London Tower Bridge, showcasing spectacular collections from top fashion designers from many countries across the globe, such as the European, Asian, Middle Eastern, African countries as well as Australia and the US.
The event will be graced by the presence of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, singers Beyonce and Kylie Minogue, football star David Beckham and wife and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Earlier this year, Vo Viet Chung presented his collection of Ao Dai at the Vietnam-Japan cultural week in Tokyo in Japan from September 15 to 19. The designer introduced three new collections, the Nguoi luc tinh (southern people) collection, the Hoa tiet Phuong Nam (southern patterns) collection and the Co Ba xu Viet (Ms. Ba from Vietnam) collection made from silk, velvet and lace fabrics.
The collections Nguoi luc tinh (southern people) and Co Ba xu Viet (Ms. Ba from Vietnam) were displayed at the Asian Fashion Week 2011 in Thailand from July 5-11 this year.
Vo Viet Chung is the first Vietnamese designer to win an award from UNESCO for preserving Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage by reviving and promoting ‘Lanh My A’ (traditional Vietnamese fabric) in 2007.
