Deputy chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu was born in the northern city of Hai Phong in 1966. She used to work at many agencies in District 5 before being appointed to chairwoman of the People’s Committee in Nha Be District.
From 2012-2015, she was the president of HCMC Labor Union.
In December 2015, Ms. Thu was elected deputy chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee.
