At Hoang Nguyen filling station in Thu Duc District, HCMC, workers said that the sale only around 200 liters of E5 a day, a tiny amount compared to the tens of thousands of A92 and A95 sold.

Explaining why he has neglected E5 gasoline, Phan Duc, a motorcycle taxi driver in Thuc Duc District said that he does not feel secure about the quality of the product.

Moreover, just two HCMC stations sell E5; one in Thu Duc district and the other on Nguyen Huu Canh Street, District 1 and both have found customers disinterested in buying the new gasoline.

“If my motorcycle runs out of fuel amid roads not near an E5 station, it will be very inconvenient,” said Vo Thanh Trung, worker of a city-based construction company.

Bio gasoline E5 is now selling at 24 petrol stations in 14 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Quang Nam, HCMC, Binh Duong, Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Long An and Can Tho.
