The bridge upgrade project was kicked off in January at a cost of VND163.3 billion (US$7.1 million) and carried out by the Area Urban Traffic Management No 4 under the HCMC Department of Transport. The bridge is rebuilt with a length of 161m and a width of 12m.
Nhi Thien Duong Bridge 1 was built in 1925 and is one of the oldest bridges in HCM City. The bridge, crossing over Kenh Doi in district 8, is located on Tung Thien Vuong Street, connecting Cho Lon area in District 5, district 8 and Mekong Delta region through National Road No 50.
