114 young volunteers from the “Green summer” and “Pink holiday” 2010 campaigns returned to Ho Chi Minh City August 12, after carrying out charitable activities in Laos and Cambodia.
Within two weeks, the volunteers provided health checks and delivered medicines to 7,400 residents, gave out 6,600 presents worth VND360 million (US$19,000) to local people and paper cases to 560 students.
Specially, they also presented four friendship houses, worth VND120 million (US$6,000), to inhabitants of Attapu and Champasak provinces, Laos.
The young volunteer delegation also installed two drinking water systems, worth VND40 million (US$2,000), at Champasak University, as well as played football and attended music programs with members of the Champasak Province Communist Youth Union.
