The Vietnam International Wood Industry Fair 2013 is being taken place at the Saigon Exhibition Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City from September 25-28.
The Wood Industry Fair is an important event in the field of raw material manufacturing, which attracts participation of more than 260 units from 19 countries and territories, including Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
The annual event has been held once every two years to introduce the latest developments in the field of woodworking machinery, furniture, wood materials, handling systems, to combine trade cooperation between enterprises and potential customers.
More than 500 booths of local and foreign enterprises in the fields of industry, technology and services are displayed at event.
Currently, Vietnam is the leading furniture manufacturing country in ASEAN and ranks sixth in the world market. More than 2,500 Vietnamese companies operate in wood manufacturing industry but only seven percent of companies invest in modern manufacturing technologies and skills.
