The event discussed issues in building the ecosystem for the development of MEMs industry, developing high quality human resources , commercializing MEMs products and the role of venture capital.
Associate Professor Ph.D Le Hoai Quoc, Director of the SHTP, said the MEMS technology contributes to the sensor production that creates a platform for smart products. MEMS and Internet of Things (IoT) also contribute to the solving problems in building smart city associated with the development of HCM City in the fourth industrial revolution.
The forum also aims to build networks and connect resources abroad and promote policies for attracting investment in MEMS tech, and link resources at home and abroad to join hands with the city to develop strategic MEMS-applied products.
MEMs is among 8 key programs of semiconductor industry and microchip technology of the city, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee from now until 2020.
The local authorities established the HCM City Semiconductor Industry Association to strengthen the high quality human resources training in the field of MEMs design in Japan.
Projects of chip production and sensor integrated circuit will receive a loan of up to VND200 billion.
HCM City hoped experts, scientists and businesses to propose solutions attracting investors to invest in laboratories, chip production factories to create a hardware platform for building smart city.
