The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has asked all the district sub-divisions to clear pavements of street  vendors and useless clutter, so as to improve and beautify the cityscape, creating a safer and friendlier tourism environment.

People’s committees in districts  1,  3 and 5 must coordinate with the Department of Transport to clear pavements of street vendors who have encroached on the space to run petty businesses that clutter and mar the beauty of the cityscape.

The Department  of Finance has  suggested to the City People’s Committee to reward those who contribute toward  maintaining social order along the city streets, thus making the city more attractive for tourists.

Police should also be asked to  run effective campaigns to prevent any harassment to foreigner tourists and thereby giving the city a good and clean image.
