City authorities alert for dengue fever

According to the Center of Preventive Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City, the city will see more cases of dengue fever in the first months because of lasting dengue fever in 2014 peak time.

According to the Center of Preventive Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City, the city will see more cases of dengue fever in the first months because of lasting dengue fever in 2014 peak time.

In January, there were over 400 cases of dengue fever in the city ; however, there is around 150 hospitalized cases.

Despite reducing cases this year compared to the same period last year patients are in more serious level.

Experts predict the disease virus remains in resident areas and it will spread on large scale. In March alone, 19 districts in the city reported infection cases and hospitalization.

Cu Chi District reported the cases increased three times compared to the same period last year meantime the development of the disease is complicated in districts such as Thu Duc, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, Tan Phu.

Consequently, the center is listing infected districts to carry out prevention mission and inspection until June.
