Cham ethnic minority people in the southern central coastal province of Binh Thuan have begun the Ramadan Festival from July 7.
The one-month long festival is the most important for Cham Islam people, in which many cultural activities take place.
The provincial People’s Committee have congratulated the people and visited pagodas, religious dignitaries, organized cultural activities and delegated relevant departments to create conditions for a safe, healthy and happy festival for the Cham people.
Binh Thuan Province is home to 41,000 Cham ethnic people, of which 15,000 are Muslims and the remaining are Brahmins.
Ramadan Festival is a unique traditional culture of the Cham people during which they worship their ancestors and pray for peace, happiness and bumper crops.
