Accodingly, Hanoi-HCMC route will be added four return flights per day, raising the total to 24 flights a day, while Hanoi/HCMC-Da Nang route will see two additional flights, raising the total to eight a day.
Other domestic routes will be provided four additional flights per day and continuously planned to get extra flights since May 1. Internatinal flights are not allowed.
Additionally, the CAAV has proposed the Minsitry of Transport to give a permission for loal carriers to operate 40 percent of their domestic flights from May 1-15, compared with the time before the pandemic.
Therefor, there will be 33 return flights a day on the Hanoi – HCMC route, including 13 trips operated by Vietnam Airlines; Vietjet Air, 12; Bamboo Airways, 6; and Jetstar Pacific, two. The number of return fights between Hanoi/HCMC and Da Nang will be 11, with Vietnam Airlines operating four; Vietjet, four; Bamboo Airways, two; Jetstar Pacific, one.
From May 16-31, the number of domestic flights is expected to see an increase of 60 percent with 50 return flights a day on Hanoi-HCMC route and 20 return flights on Hanoi/HCMC- Da Nang route per day.
The CAAV has also proposed the ministry to give a nod for carriers to start selling full-season tickets as well as lift the distance of passengers on the planes.
According to CAAV, airlines carried 10,000 passengers a day from April 23-25, reaching only 11 percent compared to the previous period.
